Detailed Feature Summary:

• Backup Selected File Type(s) – Users can select one or more filetype groups. Filetype groups are a comma separated list of file extensions. Sublime Vault backs up all files on the user’s hard drive with an extension in the selected file type group. Users with proper permissions can create their own user defined filetypes or filetype groups.

• Backup Selected Directory(ies) – Users can select one or more folders in their file hierarchy. Sublime Vault backs up all visible files contained in the selected folder(s). By default Sublime Vault will not backup hidden files.

• DoD Class Encryption – Sublime Vault uses the 256 bit AES encryption method. AES is the Advanced Encryption Standard adopted and approved by the Department of Defense. All communication to and from any computer device using Sublime Vault is encrypted with AES prior to being transmitted over a secure HTTPS socket.

• Incremental backup support – Sublime Vault conserves bandwidth usage and system resources by backing up the original file once and thereafter only backup the changes for each file. Every time a file changes Sublime Vault compares the latest version against the prior version copies only the changes and uploads those changes to the remote data center for archival.

• Theft Recovery/Protection (Notebook) – When a user has lost a Sublime Vault‐protected machine, he can request that machine be tracked for recovery. A user can initiate a recovery process through a web or phone request. Upon receiving a recovery request, Vault personnel cause the Sublime Vault server to capture data from the Sublime Vault client that could aid law‐enforcement officials in identifying the whereabouts of the missing machine, and identity of the machine’s current user. Tracking data can include, but is not limited to.

• Frequently Changing File(s) Support – To prevent Sublime Vault from overburdening system performance by attempting to upload large, frequently changing files every time they change, users can specify file types (by file extension), and a frequency on which such files should be uploaded. Furthermore, users can specify that such backups will be initiated only after their computer has idled for more than a number of minutes the user specifies.

• Large and Open/Locked File Support – Sublime Vault will backup files that are currently in use or locked by another program. This is a huge advantage because many backup solutions require that you close any open databases or files before they can backup the file. Sublime Vault uses special Microsoft processes that safely and reliably allow Sublime Vault to read and copy open or locked files marked for backup.

• Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Vista Support – These are the current versions of operating systems that we support.

• Document Retention Policy Enforcement – With Sublime Vault an Administrator can specify how long deleted files are retained and which filetypes or folders are.

• Automatic Upgrade/Update Support – Each time a new release or feature is available each copy of Sublime Fault is automatically upgraded to the latest release.

• Account Suspension/Deactivation Support – Administrators can remotely suspend or deactivate any user or device.

• As of Date/Time Restore‐Recovery Option – When restoring a file or set of files from the Sublime Vault web interface user’s and Administrators can specify a specific date and time to restore the selection and Sublime Vault will restore the selected files as they were stored on the user’s device at that date and time in history. This is very useful in the case of audits, virus infections, or legal discovery.

• Custom File Set Restore – When restoring with Sublime Vault you can make any file selections you like for restoration rather than being forced to restore the entire backup set.Continuous Real Time Backup – Also called Continuous data protection (CDP) or continuous backup or real‐time backup, refers to backup of computer data by automatically saving a copy of every change made to that data, essentially capturing every version of the data that the user saves. It allows the user or administrator to restore data to any point in time.

• Admin Access Rights Model – Administrators have access to all devices and backup sets created for that primary account. Additionally, Administrators can assign privilege levels, with the following capabilities being optionally assignable to a user.

• Setup Reminder Alerts – Sublime Vault will send the user and the Administrator a reminder email if the user has not setup and configured Sublime Vault on their machine.

• Remote Delete/Destroy Notifications – The Administrator is sent a notification when a user requests for their computer to be remotely destroyed. If the user is configured to have authority to activate remote destroy instructions without Administrative approval the Administrator is notified of the destruction initiation sequence.

• Temporarily Suspend Backups – In the case that the user is on a low bandwidth or slow internet connection they can temporarily suspend Sublime Vault from backing up changes. Sublime Vault will resume backing up file changes once the user specifies or the device is rebooted.

• CPU and Bandwidth Throttling – Users can specify how much CPU or computing power and bandwidth Sublime Vault uses when the user is actively using the device.

• Password Reset & Recovery Support – Users can retrieve or reset their own passwords using the Sublime Vault website.

• Add Custom File Types to Application – If the user or Administrator wants to backup specific filetypes no matter where they reside on the device they can create and select for backup their own filetype definitions.

• Single device multi‐user support – Sublime Vault supports multiple users on a single device, each user can have their own backup definition and Sublime Vault will ensure that all changes on that device are backed up properly without compromising the underlying Windows file access security.

• Remote Web Access to Backup Set – Users can view and access their backed up files via a website. With web‐access, users can download one or more files of a selected version or point in time from their backup for access or restoring of lost file.

• Remote Destroy Hard Drive – Users can choose to destroy their machine’s hard drive. This approach not only overwrites original data, but also overwrites the disk drive’s boot sector, rendering it inoperable.

• Remote Delete Backup Files – Users can choose to delete those files backed up by Sublime Vault on a remote machine. These are the files for which the user has a known ability to restore through Sublime Vault. Deleted files are overwritten repeatedly, to ensure against forensic analysis of the hard drive.

• File History Access – Users can access any version of any backed up file either within the client’s backup explorer or via their web accessible account.

• Historical Usage/Billing Reports – Authorized users can view historical usage and billing reports that specify their usage. Administrators and primary account holders can view the entire organizations usage and billing reports.

• Optional Read‐Only Web Access – Administrators can provision accounts to only have read‐only access to their remote data set. This prohibits users from being able to permanently delete files from their backup set.

• User activity monitoring dashboard – Administrators can at a glance determine who and when each device last connected and uploaded a file.

• Optional Access to Individual Accounts – When setting up your account we can optionally configure Sublime Vault to disallow Administrator access to individual accounts for privacy or other regulatory reasons.

• Optionally schedule backups – This will allow users or Administrators to only allow Sublime Vault to backup files between certain hours of operation; some IT staff prefer this method to maximize available bandwidth during normal business hours. Since Sublime Vault uses an incremental backup method and bandwidth throttling we feel this feature will only be used in areas where internet connections are poor.
